In this book over 30 scholars, artists and museum professionals describe what it means to inherit the (infra)structures of the colonial past, its categories, its relations, and even its objects. This publication asks us, and its readers, how we deal with such bequests.
After designing one of the rooms in the Our Colonial Inheritance exhibition, artist Farida Sedoc continued to be in conversation with Wereld Museum Amsterdam, becoming the book designer.
Besides the choice of vibrant colors, the
grittiness,
the bold, straightforward design a important choice was made to incorporate a font made by samoan-born graphic designer Joseph Churchward.
